Juniper attacks Cisco

Fair amount of chatter about the announcements from $JNPR yesterday, but traders seem unimpressed.
My opinion? Juniper’s announcements are fine – nothing wrong with having a unified strategy and story. Also a smart move by $JNPR to position themselves as the alternative to $CSCO – effectively marginalizing $STAR, $TLAB and others.
They probably weren’t big fans of the Barron’s article last weekend either.
But to me, this looks like mostly marketing noise – PR and positioning – and from product perspective appears much more evolutionary than revolutionary.
